Not feeling too well and DD was at work so took GD to DS and DIL's house to visit. I talked son out of lunch out and a movie and instead sprawled on his rug and played quietly with the grandkids. He got deli for lunch and we all ate in. DIL had also just wanted a quiet day at home.
My little boy went to a yard sale down the street, and bought me a "box on wheels" (scrapbooking cart), to carry all of my teacher stuff to and from school, with his own money. Thoughtful, and practical. Signs he is maturing.
I dunno yet... I'm kinda lost. All of our grandmas are gone. DH's Mom passed on a year ago this past April, so this will be his first Mothers day without his mum. My mum is out of state now visiting my sister (niece graduated from college yesterday), and just today leaves my sister's to visit my younger brother in the DC metro. So he'll get to have her around for Mother's Day. Kind of a novelty for them because the past 5-10 years it's basically been me taking my mom out for Mother's Day. So we'll have a catch-up when she gets home next week. I think my DH and DS are plotting something but usually that means the DS is getting something HE wants and just pretends that I would also get some "benefit" from it (he's only 13 and doesn't quite have down the "what do girls want" thing yet. Not that my DH is any better.... arrrgh!).
My son invited me to his house to spend the weekend esp. Mother's day. He lives in the twin cities and I am so looking forward to it. He said he has activities planned for us, I'm sure some will include eating. But I will eat sensibly and get some walking in throughout each day. I am so excited!
I am going to go and spend the whole day with my Mom. It is about a 2 hour drive one way to get there but I am so looking forward to being with for the the day.
