I was just reading my last blog and realised how much has happened in such a short time!
My Gastric sleeve surgery is scheduled for May25 about a week and a half away!!!
I am a week and a bit into Optifast. I was so worried before I wouldnt be able to get my head into the space but guess what - its there! lol Funny that.
It really hasnt been that bad. For the most part I am not hungryHaving said that tho, I am avoiding all situations where I need to deal with food. Just laying low, chilling out at home ( as much as I can) . I really dont like the taste of Optifast and have had a few hold my nose to get it down the hatch moments! I try and think of it like medicine. Yesterday I only had two Optifasts. I drink HUGE amounts of water and herbal tea.
You would think I would be missing
But I am not................... This is what I miss......
I have been having my vegetables and salad at the table with the family at dinner time. The last two nights they have had seasoned chicken and venison and I have eaten my veges by myself
The meat just smells soooooooooooo good. I even caught myself thinking surely ONE chicken leg wont hurt, its not like there is much meat on there. Bad Rachie!
But I resisted and ate my veges
Hubby has been doing all the cooking. We will do the groceries together tonight and give the kids the bad news that they will be cooking too! Two of them are great cooks.
I lost 3.7 kg (8.15lb) last week. Its so hard to get my head around this weight is NOT comming back!
I have booked accommodation in Auckland for 10 days (its about a 3hr drive from where I live) Hubby is coming up for surgery and staying for a few days after. Then he goes home (to do kid duty and work)and a lovely friend is coming to look after me for the remainder of time.
Its finally happening! I am trying to bee a wee bit selfish and focus on me. Its not working very well!
I am telling people about the surgery now. I put on my big girl panties and got brave. People have been very supportive.
I have a new job to go to after I recover. Working with a little deaf boy. They are going to hold my job. One of the ladies at special education has a lap band so she is really understanding. How awesome is that!
