Dang.

Thursday, May 10, 2012

I went to see my nutritionist yesterday. I haven't been eating well at all, it's been fast food mania with me. We did a weigh in. Three weeks ago, according to her scale, I was at 227. Yesterday I was at 235. Feels terrible.

No more messing around. I'm going in cold turkey, no easing into all of this. It may sound like I'm setting myself up for failure, but I've done this before and lost about 20 lbs. I can do this again.

No more pop.
More veggies.
More fruit.
No eating out alone, and if I do eat out with friends I will watch my portions and choose healthier options.
Track everything I eat.
More water.
Start exercising more.

What are some other changes you think I should do?

Those are great goals! Going "cold turkey" is what worked for my weight loss. Getting rid of sugar and fast food completely will definitely cause you to shed a lot of weight, fast. For me, if I have a little bit of sugar, I quickly become addicted again.

I agree with SDORTON2, a food tracker helps sooo much. If you download the spark app for your cellphone it links with the website so you can keep track of food, water, and exercise without being on the computer.

You have a whole community of supporters behind you! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Love your Spark! emoticon Don't overwhelm yourself. Take your biggest offenders and begin there. Do you use the online tracker? I started using that and was amazed at how much it really made a difference in how I felt! I am working on getting everything within the proper levels.
I would say to absolutely avoid fast food as much as possible. I am doing that by cooking more and that requires planning and sometimes cooking ahead. I am using a menu I put together with things my family likes too and have lightened up the recipes. So far they have liked them all. I have posted some of them on my blog if you are interested. You have to find things to eat that you can enjoy to really stick with it.
I am using the online tracker for water, food, and exercise! I weigh only once a week. As women our weight can wiggle a bit, so I can't be weighing daily. I know some do. Sodium makes a big difference in this.
Exercise is very important too, but start slow or you may not be able to stick to it. When the habit is established, it will be much easier to build on it.
Keep a yum yum in your purse so if you happen to be out, you won't be tempted with unhealthy options. I keep a 100 cal pack of cocoa roast almonds.
You got this! emoticon
