A note of encouragement to myself :)

Wednesday, May 09, 2012

I just wanted to give myself a quick pat on the back.

Sometimes we don't stop and congratulate ourselves for the things we accomplish, even the little things, especially the little things. So this is just a little blog to tell myself how great I think I've been doing ;)

Brenda,
you have been rocking it this week! You've stayed on track with the goals you've outlined for yourself and you've stuck with the meal plan you created. I'm so proud of you. I know how difficult it's been getting back on track but look at you now. You haven't deviated from your meal plan and you haven't given into temptation even though it's been right up in your face. Good for you. You've gone to Zumba and done your strength training just like you planned. Heck, you even added a Zumba class. I know it's easy to follow a routine during the week and I know how much you struggle on the weekend but I have faith in you. You CAN do it. I know that you will because I know how much you hate to lose. And this is a challenge for you and I know you want to win and come out of this week knowing that you did everything you said you were going to do. Have faith, put your worries in God's hands and just do what you have to do. One day at a time, remember.
Love,
Brenda emoticon

emoticon Sending you some love!! Great job celebrating short term wins! It's awesome that you took the opportunity to give yourself the pat on the back! This journey is frustrating at times, but I wanted you to know that you motivate me SO much and you're absolutely right - we need to stop and think about the accomplishments we've already achieved. We spend a lot of time hoping and wishing that things would change FASTER, but if we don't stop and appreciate that we're making steady progress (even if it feels slow), we risk losing sight that we're on a LONG-TERM goal.
