Food was good today. I think I'll start daily blogging my food to keep myself on track for awhile.
Today:
breakfast: 3 eggs, half and half in my coffee
lunch: salad with mozzarella and bacon, plus grilled flank steak florentine
snack: cream top plain yogurt
dinner: 4 slices organic bacon, 2 eggs scrambled, salad with homemade mustard garlic dressing, and a cup of sliced strawberries.
Lots of eggs today, but we didn't have much food in the house when I got home from crossfit, so that's what my option was.
And speaking of Crossfit. Holy moly. My arms are jelly. People talk about having a stronger side of the body. Well, I have a stronger hemisphere: my legs can handle most things, but my arms are weaklings. I think part of the problem is that I'm carrying 30 extra lbs. My legs can lift that, but my arms can't.
So I was sore today still from Monday. Mostly in the abs and butt, but some in the legs. Today's workout:
warm up was 3 sets of:
quad stretch
5 wall squats
5 pushups
5 situps
focused on form, not speed.
We also reviewed some cleans with the PVC pipes.
Then the workout. It was pretty hard, and longer than anything I'd done before.
8 min AMRAP:
500m row
5 chest to bar pullups (ring rows for me)
30 double unders (90 regular jump rope for me)
6 min rest
8 min AMRAP:
20 lunge steps
10 ring dips (tricep dips on a box for me)
20m farmer walk with 55lbs in 2 kettlebells
10 ab mat sit ups
6 min rest
8 min AMRAP:
30 double unders (again, 90 regular jump rope)
10 pull ups (ring rows for me)
10 push ups (on my knees)
30 second plank
I did 3 rounds of the first, just shy of 3 rounds of the second, and 2 of the last. My arms were just flailing by the end.
Lots of stretching after. I think I'll be hard pressed to lift my arms tomorrow.
But if nothing else, a workout like that makes me want to lose weight, just so that I can do things as prescribed! Most of the things I find terribly hard are exercises that involve my arms dealing with my body weight.
Off on a business trip tomorrow. Focusing on food and sleep. :) We aren't going anywhere this weekend, so I'll take a look at what the WOD is at crossfit on Saturday, and if it looks like something I can do, I'll go then. I'm on the 3x week program, and I'd like to get my money's worth.
