It's funny coming on here after not being on here since 2007. 5 years. I guess it's not too shabby that I've only gained 4 lbs in those five years. Less than one lb per year. But that is not exactly the direction I'd like to go.
But now I have motivation. It's 2 fold:
1) I'm taking an adult only trip to Hawaii in 9 months. I need to lose this weight.
2) I've started having actual pain.
Because my job changed from an active job to a desk job, I'm shocked at how not fit I am. I decided to wear a pedometer yesterday and today just to get a baseline of my steps. Yesterday I stepped less than 4000 all day. And this morning it is 10:48 and I've taken 61 steps. That's it. 61 steps since I got up at 6 am. But I've been working. I'm absolutely EXHAUSTED and I've only taken 61 steps.
That could not be more unacceptable.
I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do, obviously continue my walking and running program 3-6 days per week. Since I've been doing that the last 6 weeks my lower back pain and definitely been greatly reduced. But I need to do something in addition to that. Perhaps I'll walk to work once the girls school is out.
I need just in general daily activity.
61 steps in 5 hours of work. So sad.
