Adventure List 2012 Update

My fortune cookie today gave me this:



"You will soon find more
adventure in life."

And I am. I find myself on the verge of something, yet again. But instead of a precipice to fall (tumble) from, I am stepping toward a ledge to spring into flight. I am scared, more at the unknown than anything. It's like when my very dear, sweet friend needs to step across a crevice. I hold her hand and am very confident about the next placement for her step. She does it, and feels silly about her apprehension. *I* am like that in the rest of life. People do this kind of thing all the time, but I haven't. I know that once I do, I will grow more confident. I'm lucky that I have a friend like her to hold my hand when I get unsteady.

But.. We need to talk about another kind of adventure --

Hike Torrey Pines (Done 3/3)
Hike to Double Peak
Hike Cowles Mtn
Hike Camp Pendleton Waterfall
Run 5 miles straight
Iron Girl 2012
Boogie Board
Spin Class (1st attempt)
Dave Matthews Band Concert (coming 9/7)

Hmmmm... We will review this and revise it. Seems heavy on the hiking, plus I'm not sure if I can get anyone who knows where this waterfall is to let me on base.

    This is so inspiring WolfKitty .... funny how a little fortune cookie exploded into a discussion of adventure,,, how you are reassessing prior goals and setting new ones.... So awesome girl! Life is an adventure and it is great that you are taking the reins! I am inspired enough that I think I will write my own list ..... thank you for blogging!

    There is nothing wrong with a lot of hiking! I'd hike every week if I could. May I add a few things to do for your adventures? (I'm going to anyway) Balboa Park- they have trails and just walking all over Balboa is beautiful and fun. Zoo or Wild Animal Park- that's a LOT of walking, especially the wild animal park, plus it has lots of hills. Look for a Groupon for kayaking. Its really fun if you do it at Mission Bay! Jog at Seaport Village. The sidewalk goes all along the bay. Hit the batting cages somewhere and just swing a bat and hit some balls. Talk about a good upper body/arm workout! Maybe these will help get some ideas flowing. Sounds like a super fun list to me, though! emoticon

Hiking adventures are fun. I hope to do some this summer. I didn't do any at all last year due to knee issues. I am looking forward to reading about your adventures. :)

    That's what LIFE is about. New adventures. I hope when I am able to do adventures like this there will be a good friend to hold my hand as well.

    Don't worry at all about spin class- you should go today if you exercise at night or tomorrow morning! I was intimidated before I went because the lights were low and so many bikers looked so fit. Really, no one pays attention to you. The music is great, you'll appreciate the dim lighting and you can add as much resistance as you want- or not! Just make sure to have the instructor set up your bike for you. Your knees should never extend beyond your toes.
