Tuesday, May 08, 2012

Sorry for the throat clearing-- my throat is very sore from being intibated, and something cam ein with the rain so I feel the need to clear my throat but I can't because it KILLS my incisions. Anyhow, I am doing ok-- sore but ok.

i hope your recovery has gone well--I know having my gallbladder out about a year and a half ago was worse than either of my c-sections, recovery-wise, but I stopped being as sick as having it was making me, so it was well worth it. Best wishes!

Glad your on the way to healing Lillie. Try throat lozenges or sugar free candy to help the throat some. Lemon or citrus will also help stimulate saliva production to keep your throat moist. For the pain to your abdomen try gently placing a pillow over your incisions when you're going to cough, sneeze or clear your throat...it won't take the pain away completely but it will support or brace your abs some and hopefully reduce the pain.

Yeah, being intubated sucks and really makes for a sore and scratchy throat. I'm really happy seeing you posting/blogging already. Modern medicine is awesome. 5 years ago the surgery required AT LEAST an overnight stay and before laproscopic surgery it required about a week hospitalization! Rest, heal, and get back to us soon!
