Weight & Cholesterol?

Tuesday, May 08, 2012

Ok, so I go in for my yearly physical. My doctor is very impressed, (according to his scale) I've lost almost 20lbs. since last year. My blood work comes back and my cholesterol overall number is up and so is my LDL. What is up with that? Last year I was in the normal range for all blood work! Now, I'm over the top.
Ok, calming down now....I have to remember that this test can be nothing more than a "snapshot in time." I have to go back in 3 months to have the blood work done again. Since I have been on SP I have taken some great advice and have NOT denied myself any food or groups of food, but now I have, but only for the next 3 months. With the help of SP, WebMD, and MayoClinic, I have come up with a list of 15 no-no's. Of course, its fast food/junk food crap that I don't need anyway, but I want a good blood test, so will abstain until then.
Have a great week!!
Lord give me strength!!

I understand that you have to watch sugar, too, not just fats. And, if you get good results and want to continue to get good results, very little of those foods can ever be added back in. Good luck. And if it works, let me know your secret!

Congratulations on your determination and focus! I hope your blood test results show a big improvement next time, and I hope that during these next few months you will find good foods that you really enjoy that will easily replace less healthy ones on a permanent basis.

Congratulations on your awesome weight loss - you are an inspiration to us all!
