I don't know what I was expecting out of this diet. Something different I think. Everything else I've tried doesn't work. I used to count calories, buy low fat, exercise to exhaustion and for what? I was on a regular, low calorie, low fat diet with regular exercise for months! Nothing. Doctors telling me I'm nearly diabetic and unhealthy, all telling me to eat up to 400 carbs a day!
My body loves this diet

. I feel like I'm in control for the first time in years. The more research I do the more I feel I've made a good decision. Ketogenic has been the best thing I've done for myself in a very long time. I thought it would be so hard, missing all of those sweet baked goods, pasta, rice and beans. It's not. Not yet anyways and I don't plan on stopping. I've lost about 6 pounds in 2 weeks, which is probably a lot of water weight but pleasing none the less. I had a back "injury" for the first week and a half as well so there was no exercise involved. (Quotations for an injury caused by not doing anything?) My boyfriend officially gained one pound but he snacks like it's goin out of style. I also read that his anti anxiety medicine may have something to do with it. Either way, we'll give it time and reevaluate at the end of the month.
