Ketogenic Praise

I don't know what I was expecting out of this diet. Something different I think. Everything else I've tried doesn't work. I used to count calories, buy low fat, exercise to exhaustion and for what? I was on a regular, low calorie, low fat diet with regular exercise for months! Nothing. Doctors telling me I'm nearly diabetic and unhealthy, all telling me to eat up to 400 carbs a day!
My body loves this diet emoticon emoticon . I feel like I'm in control for the first time in years. The more research I do the more I feel I've made a good decision. Ketogenic has been the best thing I've done for myself in a very long time. I thought it would be so hard, missing all of those sweet baked goods, pasta, rice and beans. It's not. Not yet anyways and I don't plan on stopping. I've lost about 6 pounds in 2 weeks, which is probably a lot of water weight but pleasing none the less. I had a back "injury" for the first week and a half as well so there was no exercise involved. (Quotations for an injury caused by not doing anything?) My boyfriend officially gained one pound but he snacks like it's goin out of style. I also read that his anti anxiety medicine may have something to do with it. Either way, we'll give it time and reevaluate at the end of the month.

    Congrats on the success so far - it really is revolutionary. There will probably lots of NSV as well - start noticing things like mood, energy, body comp - many see changes in these areas, sometimes even before the scale moves much.

    Woubbie - love the Nightmare on ELMM street. I did that for a full year and all I lost was my will to live.

    Someone recently characterized the "Eat Less Move More" recommendations as the "Nightmare on ELMM Street"! I personally sometimes feel like Neo after he took the red pill - what an awakening!

    Thats awesome congrats on the 6 pounds! Make sure to eat low carb berries and low starch veggies or you could run into electrolyte imbalances and weaknesses . I have also been doing this, so far 8 pounds 2 weeks

    I'm glad that it is working for you...just be careful. This particular diet put me in the hospital so just stay in touch with your doctor.
