8 May 2012 - Starting Over

Well, I feel like I am starting over.

I have been pretty poor at tracking since the holidays - and now it's May!

A lot of it stems from re-injuring my back in December. I feel like I haven't been myself since. I am afraid to get back in to my workout regiment - because every time I start feeling stronger something happens and I back slide.

I am going to try to start using yoga and workout videos together. To keep things interesting AND to try to have some sort of routine.

My roller derby season is ending this weekend - so with less practices I am definitely going to have to pump up my cross training.

I hope this NEW START with new goals (and finally recording my weight gain) will be exactly what I need to move forward and stick with the spark.

    I totally get where you are coming from! I haven't been myself since the end of last year. I injured myself and have had to limit my activities greatly. That has resulted in me being depressed and just feeling cruddy about myself. I also stopped tracking religiously, which hasn't helped me feel better about myself. I just sort of got burnt out on it.

I started doing yoga a few weeks ago in an effort to help ease some of my aches and pains. I find it immensely challenging. I really like it!

I am currently waiting to hear if my insurance company is going to approve my hip surgery. If they do, I'm staring down the end of my season very soon. It's bittersweet because I don't want to stop playing, but I'm not performing at my peak because of the injury. The sooner I get fixed, the sooner and I start healing.

I hope you are able to find a good off-season routine and come back stronger next year!

    Ditto here....except for the Roller derby, that is. I'm always starting over- but I'm bound and determined to do it this year!! Lose the weight - ALL of IT!!!
Hang in there- you can do it- no matter how many times you have to start over!!
