Woke up on my last day at Mom's to another dark, cool, windy day. It had rained all night and we got 33 mm (1.3 inches). So I hopped on the elliptical and did 60 min and Mom went to her water aerobics class at the YWCA. Then Angus wanted to go to Costco to get his vitamins and calcium at 10 am so he and I went as Mom was still away. Bought a little more then I intended, a couple of impulse buys, and didn't get the item I wanted lol. Aged cheddar is a real rare treat for me, so when I saw Balderson's was $4 off, just couldn't let that one go by.
Mom had narrowed it down to three motels she wanted to stay at while in Radium Hot Springs and I managed to find a web site with more information on all three. Most featured a fridge of some kind and a coffee maker in the rooms. Unfortunately, the prices are given at high season for the time we are going to be there, making all the choices over $100 a night, and even more on weekends.
Finally, at long last, the sun made an appearance late in the afternoon. Mom and I went outside for a while. Angus was raking up the clumps of cut grass he had left the other day. The grass has grown so thick and is so soggy, the lawn mowers kept getting bogged down, but if they hadn't gotten at it, their mowers wouldn't have been able to cut it at all (his neighbor came out to help him when he saw he was struggling with it and brought his on mower but had no better luck.. The ticks are going to be really bad this year. After our hike Saturday, I found two crawling on me later. When Angus was having supper, I spotted one on his ponytail. We never used to get them in their yard. Mom is so not looking forward to getting her garden work done under those trees. But as usual, all her soil is gone and she must dig in new stuff to keep the perrenials alive, those that survived out winter without any moisture. She may have at least two dead shrubs, but one is still under warrantee so she will be able to get a free replacement. She has very bad, hard clay soil and does hours and hours and long days in the spring simply digging in new earth to keep her huge yard growing.
The evening was going to be gorgeous, but as always, Mom hustles me home before dark because she doesn't think Angus should be driving then, so no last beaver walk -they only come out just before dark which is later now at about 7:30 pm..
Busy, busy as usual. Club work I didn't get done and needs to be done tomorrow.
Came home, unpacked everything, had supper, washed the dishes and hit the computer.
Night all, have a Terrific Tuesday!
