Planning ahead

Elliptical for 30 minutes - done. (Did elliptical in lieu of running, since I overslept and couldn't go before taking my daughter to school, and it was too hot by the time I returned.)

Tracking food on SP - done.

Breakfast was a whole wheat pita pocket with cream cheese and raisins. It was pretty satisfying. But my 10am I was hungry again. So I had a small banana.

Lunch was supposed to be a lentil burger using a wheat roll (as the bun, I guess?), but I had not prepared the lentil burger ahead of time and since it takes a bit of time to prepare, I stopped by the grocery store and picked up some Boca Vegan Burgers. They're only 70 calories each, so I thought that would be perfect. To it I was to add .13 of an avocado... uhh wasn't sure what .13 was, but I guessed it mean about 1/8 of an avocado? So I estimated.

Instead of a wheat roll I used a whole wheat pita pocket and smushed and spread the avocado in, then added the heated-in-the-microwave vegan burger patty, a slice of pre-sliced but not processed cheddar cheese, and .13 cup of salsa (there's that .13 again, LOL); i.e., 1/8 cup.

After I enjoyed that yummy vegan/avocado/cheese/salsa burger on a pita (which my daughter loved, too, by the way), I looked back at the SP meal plan print-out to see what fruit was for "dessert" and realized I was supposed to have had a 10-oz package of mixed veggies (from frozen) with my burger. Oops. I didn't feel like heating that up at that point, so I settled for 2 cups fresh spinach with 1 tsp olive oil and 1 tbs cider vinegar instead. It was good, but then I was still hungry. Insert an issue with my daughter, and I ran to the freezer to get my chocolate low fat ice cream fix. I figured I would simply include it in my calorie count.

400 calories later, I was still hungry, so I then went to get fruit. I opted for lower calorie cantaloupe, but again, even after that -- still hungry. I did my nutrition tracker so it could tally up my cals so far today, and realized I was still okay as long as I stuck to dinner without veering, minus the cottage cheese.

Lesson learned: PLAN AHEAD BETTER. I should have prepared the lentil burger recipe ahead of time, instead of doing the vegan burger which was less filling, and I should have also known by looking ahead of time that I would need to cook that 10-oz pkg of frozen mixed veggies (I like to use the stir-fry kind, minus the sauce, of course).

I am not a very good Planner-Aheader. I need to work on that.

PS: I weighed in this morning since today is my official "turning over a new leaf" day, and was surprised to see 163.5 on the digital readout. Saturday morning when I weighed it said 165.5! How I lost 2 lbs over the weekend, I have no idea. I wasn't even trying! I'll take it, though! LOL. Let's hope I can keep that losing trend going this week. :-)
