Whoa...

Two blog entries in slightly over a week's time? Shocking!

Basically, I'm here because I've had a horrific week, food-wise. It's not that I ate an entire bag of potato chips or anything. That was three weeks ago :P It's just that I've been leaping on food as if it's going to come to life and run away from my plate. And since I am about as far from a hunter/gatherer type as you can get, that's pretty ridiculous.

I haven't even put in this weekend's food because I can't stand to look at it on the tracker. I don't want to know. And I'm the one who puts everything in the tracker, including buffet dinners! Sheesh. Maybe I'll go ahead and try to remember enough to put it in after I put up this entry. We'll see.

But anyway, no time like the present to get back on track, so I'm back on it. I'm going to have my usual breakfast (today was a faux Egg McMuffin made with a sprouted grain English muffin, egg whites, a slice of cheddar cheese and Canadian bacon, accompanied by a cup of strawberries; tomorrow and the rest of the week will be an egg/ egg white scramble with berries on the side), and today through Wednesday I'm going to have a smoothie for lunch, then my standard dinner, which is a lean protein (I've got pork tenderloin waiting, and perhaps fish tonight) and broccoli. Thursday is Chipotle-for-lunch-day because one can only eat smoothies for so long until one goes completely insane. Friday I may pick up some blackberries and have my "usual" lunch consisting of a small pita with a TBSP of nut butter (almond maple right now), Fage 2% yogurt, one wheel of Babybel light, and a cup of blackberries. Then I'll keep it sane over the weekend and carry it through next week.

What makes me craziest is that I had an upper and lower GI issue this weekend, and although most people can't eat during those, since mine was just sick enough to the point where I thought I *might* throw up, I kept eating to try to make my stomach feel better. Genius!

Oh well. It is what it is. Now I just have to work out my exercise again, because I'm off track there still (cardio? hello, what's that?). It'll happen. I have to be at the beach in just over 10 weeks, so I'd better get on it!

The most important thing is getting back on track. And guess what? You have already done that! You are awesome!

So glad you are back on track. Your plans for eating sound great! You are so right to get right back on track. I totally understand eating when your stomach is funky. I think part of the reason I gained weight so often was that I'd lose control once and overeat and then get that yucky feeling where I just felt like I had to eat to keep my stomach tolerable.

Enjoyed this blog. Well written. Interesting. I could identify with a lot of it. -Marsha
