mmmm... green smoothie...

Yeah, it looks a little scary...
But yesterday I wanted to try it out as an afternoon snack.

This recipe called for spinach, strawberries, banana, and orange juice.I was a little nervous about that combo, but I have tried many a strange new thing when exploring healthy eating! I didn't have orange juice, so I subbed a couple of clementines and half a cup of water. After blending, I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to drink this!

But actually it was quite tasty!

Here is what my 10 year old thought of "the Incredible Hulk Drink" after making a hideous face when he saw the strange green stuff in his cup:

Yep, every drop was gone!

I think it would have tasted a little sweeter with actual orange juice, but otherwise, I will be serving this at snack time again!

Here is the link to the SP recipe if you want to try it yourself:

By The Way: the "incredible Hulk" name came from a comment under the recipe, I thought it was a great way to think of this smoothie!

I WANT to like Green Smoothies, but I haven't found one that I like. This recipe sounds delicious, and with Your Son's endorsement I think I will try this as soon as I get to the store for some Orange Juice.
Maybe sub some Naval Oranges? emoticon

I'm not really into smoothies myself but my kids love them. Good way to cheat in a couple of fruit and veggies into their diet.

I almost didn't make it past the first photo. Glad I did. I might try it sometime.

I'm not much into smoothies so it might be a while.
