Two similar but different scenes....this is how they go....
Scenerio #1:
She opens up the front door and looks outside: "Oh crap, the clouds are moving in a lot faster than I thought they would!" She thinks: " You KNOW how it is this time of year and once it starts it won't stop for quite a while. You'll NEVER get in three and a half miles before you end up getting dumped on. And anyway you got in over seven miles yesterday and you have a rest day tomorrow and you could just do it then and you've already put six miles in on your bike today and the last thing you want to have to deal with is getting drenched!" All of these thoughts take place in the 60 seconds that it takes her to go into the other room, crawl back under the covers and continue watching the TV program that she wasn't even really interested in.
Scenerio #2:
She opens up the front door and looks outside: "Oh crap, the clouds are moving in a lot faster than I thought they would!" She thinks: "Ok, I have the route mapped out, everything is right here and ready to go. If I just pick up the pace a bit I can get the three and a half miles in before the rain starts and anyway so what if it does start raining? It's not going to hurt me if I get a bit wet, I'm not made of sugar, I won't melt!" All of these thoughts take place in the 60 seconds it takes her to throw on some sweats, put on her shoes and socks, pick out some new music, strap on her fanny pack, make sure she has her pedometer, stop watch and really cool new sunglasses and get out the front door.
Scenario #1: Me, 5 months ago.
Scenario #2: Me, today.
That, my friends, is what is known in the venacular as a "tipping point"! BOOYAH.....
P.S. I didn't get rained on.
P.P.S. You guys have NO idea how much fun it is to write these things in your "head happy place" while you're out there!
