slipped some money into my coat pocket before I left her house yesterday - for fuel, bless her!
I didn't know she had done this. I did think, as I put that coat into the wardrobe, "I doubt if I'll wear that coat again as it's now too loose". It's a lovely coat that was a bargain on eBay, but as it's a UK size 20 I won't be sad that it's out of service now that I'm a UK size 16 :-) :-)
Mum told me what she had done after I reported that I had ordered a dress on-line for her which will be delivered tomorrow. The dress is for her grand-daughter's wedding next Saturday. Mum has always been a smart dresser, but is currently hampered by having her left wrist heavily bandaged after a fairly minor operation. The size 10 dress that we bought last Thursday was a little too tight, so I took that back on Friday and got a 12. The 12 fits well, but unfortunately there was a flaw in the zipper. As I was coming home on Saturday, I didn't have time to return the faulty dress. A friend has offered to take it back for her. Another friend is providing a suitable fascinator.
I have to find something to wear tomorrow, although I do have a dress (that fits again) that could fit the bill if I don't find anything lovely. Isn't it great to find lots of smaller sized clothes fit again, so get a new lease of life!
Anyone who stresses about planning a wedding might take a leaf out of my niece and sister's books. The date was set and all arrangements made in less than a month. Why? Because my niece's fiance was suddenly offered a job in Australia, which means they have to relocate by June.
