Birthday food

Sunday, May 06, 2012

So it's my room-mate's birthday tomorrow, and party later in the week. She has been making food for the party, little fatty things. Today I have had 2 mini quiches and a spinach and feta filo. I say no but then she says "try one, try one they are yummy..." I have so little self control as it is and after the second time refusing, my resolve has all but gone.

Now if I was overweight I would have no problem telling her that I was trying to eat healthy... if I do that now then I attract a lot of unwanted attention regarding my eating habits. It is just so hard to keep saying no... this week is going to be full of birthday food... I am already struggling.

I have been in this situation, too. If you decline food as a thin person, you get that "look" of disdain. And then the nasty comments about how you could stand to put "some meat on those bones" begin.
