Getting Organized and Prepared

Saturday, May 05, 2012

I figured that I need to make things exciting to keep my motivation. Therefore, I spent the morning reviewing recipes. So the meals for this week are planned and there are several new recipes in the mix. I achieved my goal of 2 fish, 2 chicken, 1 shell fish, 1 beef and 1 vegetarian meal for dinner. I'll try to post about the best of them. Then, I reviewed my refrigerator and pantry. I have a grocery list a mile long, but I want to be prepared. And I plan on packing lunch for DH as well.

The biggest adventure will be getting DH to try new foods. I would like to try some new fish recipes. I know he loves fish, but he is very set in the fish he likes. I would like to venture outside of tilapia, trout, salmon, dover sole, red snapper, and cod. I would like to try grilling ahi tuna, but so far he is hesitant. That's funny because he likes canned tuna as long as its solid white packed in water.

So along with all of these changes in lifestyle, we are working on our house as well. So today, I'm a little locked into being here. I sent dH to Home Depot and told him that he could select all the colors for our guest bathroom. So while our painters are still working on 5 of the closets, I am spending time on SP and dH is perusing Home Depot for marble tile for the counter, and floor tile. : )) I am a trusting wife. Thankfully, dH has awesome taste.

Great job on the menu planning! You are doing better than I am with that!

Hope hubby picks good stuff--and just fix it, he'll eat it or fix his own or starve!!
