NSV - Non Scale Victory. Woo Hoo, Thank you E2!

Saturday, May 05, 2012

Been feeling like a limp wet dish rag this past week. But the week ended on a high note.
One of my goals is to get off meds. I'm not off the medication but it got reduced. emoticon

My cholesterol levels have improved.
Cholesterol 171
Triglycerides 114
HDL 50
LDL 98

So what changed??? I don't do dairy. Heaven knows I loved cheese, But if it comes down to dairy and take drugs, I'll do without the dairy thank you.

Until I did The Engine 2 diet I never truly realized how much fat I was consuming.A dab of butter here, a slice of cheese there, a dollop of sour cream, cream for my coffee, Did I forget to mention ice cream. I never really stopped to think about all the dairy products in my life.
The money spent on dairy now goes to fresh produce. I splurge on those mini Persian cukes, they are a nice size for lunch and I am so worth it.

Way to go on getting those drugs reduced! I agree with TG that so many of us just keep doing the old things and using whatever drug is needed rather than eat right and not HAVE to use those drugs.

Make sure you give yourself some MAJOR CREDIT for what you have achieved!!

This is the BEST kind of success!

TOO many Americans don't feel there is a problem as long as their is a drug they can take to "make it better." I love that your goal has been to get off the meds and you are making it happen!

Good for you! I also love those little cucumbers -- and fresh raspberries -- and sugar snap peas -- and all kinds of "not cheese" treats. One cheese I still do have in moderation is low fat feta . . . good flavour and a whack o' protein!

Good for you! I'm glad your numbers are down. I'd love to get off my statin.
I too love dairy products. I haven't given them up completely, but I have reduced the amount I eat. I have used skim milk for years and I like the taste. When I eat cheese which is dramatically reduced, I measure it carefully using shredded cheeses usually low fat Mozzarella and when I want ice cream, I go the local ice cream shop and get a junior cone which is about 1/2 cup and I only do that maybe once or twice a month. I'm just an old dairy farmer at heart I guess.
