Exciting title, right? Sucks you right in. Oh well.
First, to look back at STRONGEND 1 - My trip to KATWorld. Fun, exhausting and COLD! WTH? St. Louis has already dipped its toes into its summer heat pattern
so imagine my surprise to arrive in sunny Southern California and find it cool! I packed shorts and t-shirts and pretty much wore the one pair of long pants I had all weekend!
But I met Jenny and Kat and we had a blast!
We talked and laughed! And apparently Jenny's not as sweet as she seems (guess who was behind those rabbit ears!)
See kids, mommy DIDN'T pick up crazy stalker guy at the airport!
We also talked about healthy food! But in keeping with my normal vacation mode, I did indulge in the local eats (even when not on my diet):
Good stuff, but WAY more carbs than I'm used to. Which is fine, if it remains an isolated instance, right?
The problem being that the rest of the week, my carb level remained higher than usual, culminating in yesterday's Cinco de Mayo festival at work. Not as exciting as it sounds (and nowhere NEAR as good as the REAL Mexican I had in Cali), but I did have half a bagel AND a brownie (and neither was really all that).
I won't even TELL you what we had for dinner last night (but it wasn't the healthy salad it SHOULD have been)! Did you know you can get Nutella at iHOP? This morning I realized that probably has something to do with why my feet are swollen and puffy and achy. BACK TO EATING RIGHT!
Fast forward to this weekend! I took Spark's fitness test (the first three parts - the mile one is harder to do, first I have to find a flat mile, then walk it - see? Too hard!) and was kinda happy with my results. Of course I expected to do better, but I live in a fantasy world.
So gym today, then long walk BEFORE it hits 90 and disgusting. Maybe pull the bike out tomorrow.
My plan for this weekend is to prep all those beautiful veggies in the fridge so salads are grab and go, get some good exercise in and find some ME time in there somewhere!
Back to real life, real food and real health!
