Visits began right away. We picked up Amy and Carmen on Saturday after speaking with AMy several times on the phone during the week, The foster Mom said she didn't care how late we brought them back so we always took them back as late as possible. Carmen was always sleeping soundly when we got them back 'home" around 10 pm.

We planned Carmen's first birthday party, picked up the girls up and celebrated with friends and family. Taking them back that night was so difficult. We already had an attorney on standby who was willing to help us sue the state for custody of the Carmen if things went poorly.

Amy kept telling us that Carmen needed us. She kept saying that she couldn't handle being up at nights and then going to school. She was complaining constantly about the foster Mom and it was obvious when we took them back each time that the Mom was frustrated by Amy's behaviors and attitude.

The Mom was running a full time day care out of her home, Her husband was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack, and she was very strict with Amy. Amy had been placed in more than 20 different homes so she felt that she could easily spot all the ones who were "in it for the money." Amy wanted to get Carmen back to our home. She said she didn't want to drag Carmen with her all over "the system" all this leads me to believe that what happened next was actually planned out by Amy.
