A Short (well, she's part dachshund) Daisy dog tail

Friday, May 04, 2012

Daisy dog has had diarrhea for a couple of days and then today she started throwing up. I promise, there are no more graphic descriptions of her illness! She is good about not having accidents in the house, but had two while I was at physical therapy this morning, so it was off to the vet! She made a huge fuss about having her temperature taken (I would have complained, too!) The shot they gave her to settle her stomach didn't bother her as much, but they said it was stinging a lot.

They confirmed my suspicion that she was having an attack of pancreatitis, so I was happy I got her to the vet before she got as sick as the episodes she had a couple of years ago.

So now, 5 days of antibiotic and a special food and no other food. I am so glad that we found a vet here that we (well, at least I) like and trust!

I'm hoping she will be back to her perky, ornery self in a few days!

You take such good care of her. At least you found a vet
that could help , despite some disagreeable (for her) issues.
Hope all goes well and she is back to normal soon. HUGS!

How very familiar... My dear dog Cassie had an attack of colitis and just finished her 5 days of antibiotics this morning. I put the pill in a little ball of peanut butter, her favorite! Having a mess in the house is very dispiriting, though, and truly gross to wake up to in the morning. The pills stopped it immediately. Hope all goes well with Daisy.

Oh, poor emoticon - she must have been miserable. That sounds like an awful ailment. Thank goodness she has you to take such good care of her.
