The month is off to a fairly good start. I got to the gym on Tuesday and Thursday as planned. Yesterday I had decided I was going to try doing mostly free weights and work on the arms. Because I did about 8 different exercises that involved using the arms, I was careful not to exhaust the muscles for an individual exercise. I was noticing extra pain last night, which is carrying over to today, so I am hoping that I did not kick into a flare-up. Since the doctor does not want me to take any ibuprofen or my prescription stuff until we do a blood draw to check the numbers that were out of line in February, I will have to live with the pain until it subsides on its own.

The good thing is that I have an appointment with my doctor for a fibromyalgia physical and follow-up next Wednesday. With only taking the Lyrica and Pamelor, that will give a good idea of where the pain is at with everyday life and exercise. I have the gym on Sunday and Tuesday before I see her, and they are going to be like I normally do.

Well, plans are in the works for hubby and I to go back to Minnesota in July. We are looking at the last 10 days of July since that would cover my dad's relative's get-together and allow time to spend with my mom's side. I am hoping that we can have some time just to go explore on our own with being there longer. I have determined that at least 1 night before we fly home, we will stay a close driving distance to the airport, especially if we go to the get-together the night before. Last month it went until at least 12:30am, so I do not want to look at a long drive after that. There are other things in the works the way it sounds on my mom's side. I am looking forward to being able to spend time with cousins and relatives, and for my husband to meet them. He has only met 2 or 3 of my cousins... I have 19 on one side and 16 on the other, if I recall correctly.

Work has been okay. It is rough having relief people coming through for an extended period of time, even if the rest of the staff is the same. The person that has been here this week, I last worked with at least 6 years ago, and he remembers me. He told me the other day that I am as good as he remembers. I took that as a great compliment. We still have about 7 weeks of relief people coming through, which means that we are halfway through at this point.

School was challenging this semester because I have not taken any classes in 3 years. Of course the new terminology I was learning gave me headaches plenty of time. But I am down to the last 3 weeks and am feeling lots better and have some understanding of computer networks. I may not be able to explain everything, but I learned a lot. Yesterday I was able to sign up for fall classes. I had it narrowed down to two classes, each fulfilling one section of the general education requirements: Elementary Statistics for the math or Intro to American Government and Politics for the History/Government section. The history/government section is a small section that there is a total of 11 classes that fulfill, with 2 of them not even being offered that semester. I hate politics, but I know that I cannot take a history course online, since I already tried that. I checked out the teacher reviews online, and they were all over the board, but one thing seemed to be consistent, and that was participate in the discussion and class project, do your homework, and take your tests, and you will do fine. I was wrestling with the idea of taking it, so I called mom to get her input. She said when she was taking courses on-campus, that was a hard section for her to fill too, much less to try to take one online, so she recommended getting that one out of the way. The math courses are always there, so I will take care of that one another semester. Next I need to sit down and figure out what other courses I need for a computer science degree.

I planted the seeds in my garden last weekend, so we will see what grows. I also repotted my aloes a couple of weekends ago, and the one pot has something else growing with it now. I am thinking it is peas or melons that I planted 2 years ago in that pot. So for now I am letting them grow together as long as the aloes continue living. I hope that the small pot of aloes is well established when I take them up to mom's next weekend.

Off to get ready for work... hope all have a great day.

I hope the pain is just that normal soreness of well-used muscles and eases up instead of causing a flare.

It's not a bad mindset - to tackle early the things that are mostly likely to have trouble. If you pass with flying colors, it is done and no worrying. If you have trouble, there's plenty of time for adjustment.

May your garden grow well!
