And the weekend is approaching. This morning is absolutely gorgeous. Sunny, warm, a perfect day to get the lawn mowed, the garden, turned and weeded, the flower bed cleaned out. Unfortunately, I am at work. Sitting at my desk. Typing this. And the weather forecast is unappealing: Rain all weekend long. I can't complain too much, because A) No one wants to hear me complain, B) we could use the moisture (the farmers will be happy), and C) there is always something else to do. Always.
As much as I'd like to escape these four walls, I have to get paid. So, I'll stare longingly out the window, wishing I could play outside. Maybe I'll get out of the office for a bit before the weather turns.
Had another good workout last night. I increased my weight regimen by one set for everything I did, plus I added a new element. By taking this slow and adding items as I become comfortable helps me stay motivated and focused. Too much at once and I get discouraged and will avoid the exercise rooms. I don't want that. Doing something is always better than doing nothing, and doing it with a positive attitude is the key to sustainability for me. Next week I'll add more weight to each exercise, I'll add more core exercises (which I need for my back condition), and mix it up to keep my muscles (and head) confused and to keep things interesting. I may even do rowing for a cardio/strength combo. Who knows, the possibilities are endless.
Like the sunshine right now.
Sigh.
