Debunking Myths in My Mind

So in the last two months and 4 days, I've debunked the following myths:

1. I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR EXERCISE. Bull. I have LOTS of time in a day where I was eating and zoning out. I have time for ME - so I can make time for exercise, EVEN though my brother has moved in and I'm helping take care of him. Anyone can work in 10-15 mins of exercise throughout the day, even on the days when you can't do the hour workout.

2. I AM TOO TIRED TO EXERCISE. Bull. I was too tired all the time because I was treating my body like crap. So I had no energy. I was filling it with food that wasn't nutritious and didn't give me what I need to function properly. Exercise makes me energetic - and when I get tired, it's the GOOD kind of tired. Not the sluggish feeling of too many carbs and major depression.

3. TRACKING NUTRITION IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE. Bull. It only takes a few minutes to track it with the Sparkpeople Nutrition Tracker. I used to spend way more time zoning out on Facebook games.

4. I DON'T HAVE TIME TO PACK MY LUNCH/PLAN MEALS/WEIGH FOOD, ETC. Bull x three. Packing my lunch only takes about 15-20 mins in the morning and that includes weighing and measuring, packing, AND making a protein smoothie.

So.. talking back to the voices in my head, in this case, is healthy.

    It's all true!!! Having my Mom move in a few days ago has my exercise and time schedule a little off kilter - but I get up several hours earlier than her and have plenty of time to go for a walk, get in a video, etc.

    What's going on in our lives doesn't count so much as what is going on in our heads :) (to help or hinder, of course!)

    Sounds like you are making positive changes and realizations to get to your goals. I like to keep my revelations in front of me for motivation and to go back and reread them in case I start to waver. Keep it up, You can do it!! emoticon
