The newbie

Whoever is reading this ... hi. I don't know if "newbie" is exactly the right word, since I've tried diets and programs before (South Beach, Weight Watchers) ... but I guess the goals's I'm setiting for myself are what's more new about me.... As the title of my page says, I'm a poet. And recently Ive had pictures taken of me that Im not only all that crazy about, but I almost dont even really 'like" who I see in them... it somehow doesn's seem like who I imagine I should be at this point in my life. So, I want to set goals that I can reasonably meet and feel good about. Blogging about all tis is new to me, so I guess now that I've started, I just need to figure out how to move on from here....

    Nothing like a bad photograph to motivate a change! Best advice I ever got from a doctor was not to diet. They never work. Find something you can do for the rest of your life. I'd say just start by using the nutrition and fitness trackers. They are invaluable tools to get a feel for where you can improve and where you can say whoo-hoo!
