A lot has been going on in my household that the stress level is really getting to me. We are remodeling the basement and it is just a lot to deal with. I wasn't the happiest camper and I just retreated inside to deal with it. Now that the project is almost over I feel like I can finally open back up without just constantly bitching about the basement stuff (definitely first world problems).
Well, I finally got my but in gear and completed the 10K that finished on U.S. Cellular Field (it will always be COMISKEY PARK TO ME). The course was a little strange, but I finally got the running bug back. I have now signed up for 2 more races - The Fleet Feet 10 Miler and the Chicago Women's Half Marathon. This week I run over 25 miles and believe me I already feel it!
My friends Beth and Michelle have also turned into runners and we now try to run together every Saturday. It's a really nice motivator.
To end this short and positive blog post, here is a good quote:
"In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that."
