PUSH THROUGH!! Just keep going!

Plateau. Stall. Brick Wall. Whatever you want to call it, I finally pushed through it.

Since April 8. Up & down, losing and gaining the same 2 pounds. I can see patterns along my journey when looking at my tracker since January. A period of steady weight loss. Then a period of up&down. Then maybe even an increase, and then whoosh, a nice weight loss.

So just this week. 3 pounds down from Monday. A peak on Monday morning by the way.

Has anyone read or experienced this kind of whooshing effect? I have read that fat gets soft just before it goes. That the fat is replaced with water temporarily, which would explain the weight gain just before a loss, and then "whoosh" it lets go and you have weight loss.

Not the most scientific of terms, but I am just wondering if there is anything to it. I can see this has been my pattern so far. Might not hold true always.

I did try to mix it up the last couple of weeks. I guess it worked, or maybe it was just time for it to go regardless of what I did. If that is the case, this is why.... don't look at the scale!! Just do what you are suppose to do and it will happen. But I do like staying on top of it. But I have 3 weigh-ins each week, and that is far too much. But I do like once a week. I like to see my graph and see patterns and go back and look at what I was doing at certain times.

So.... this means that I am at a new low number. Yeah me! But the almost month long of stalling, has set me behind to meet my Memorial Day goal. Oh well, I know I am on the right track and doing everything that I need to do.

So to anyone that feels like you are hitting a brick wall, or the scale just isn't cooperating, my advice is to PUSH THROUGH!! Keep going! I often wonder how many times I was on the verge of success, when I just gave up saying it is no use. In spite of trying and losing some, only to then go up&down and even gain! And then just give up. If I would have just pushed through, success would have been right around the corner.

Such a useful bit of information to have in our bag of arsenal against fat loss.

    I weigh myself each morning so that I can form a pattern. I have two weigh ins a week re teams, and find I am down usually with one and the same or a gain with the other. I am not concerned when it goes up and down over the week as long it is going down over the long run. I will be watchful of a 'whooshing', hope I get one soon. emoticon on breaking a plateau, this IS where we tend to give up.

    You are so right! I have been there and done that too! Sometimes I think the scale is one of our worst enemies. I am glad that you broke through yours and hung in there until it happened! emoticon emoticon
