Feeling Fat

Thursday, May 03, 2012

Well I attended the Ladies' Retreat at River Valley Ranch again this year. It was good AND bad. The best part was doing the ZIP line which included hiking up a really steep hill, which just about killed me even though I workout! I hope someone got a picture of me - some of us carried little pinwheels like the little pig on the Geico commercials!!!

It became cloudy and then I had some tech issues when I went to play the slides and songs I had prepared. I felt like I really goofed up, but took care of it before anyone noticed (except for the girls running the overall show). I cried my eyes out in knowing that I should have prepared better and probably upset my one very good friend.

So after taking care of what I needed to for that I did enjoy the wonderful food they prepared and watching the other ladies get so silly in our dormitory.

I decided to finally take a few pictures with my cell phone as we were all packing up and the sun had come out - well then I sent them to my computer and saw how large I look!!! I think I'm also wearing too many oversize clothes trying to cover up my middle spare tire. I really feel down after seeing myself... so I'm going to post this as a starting picture and hope that I can post a better picture later after lots of working out and cutting out snacks!

Here goes :( Oh, yeah, I'm on the left!

The camera doesn't lie and sometimes the truth hurts - but that's a good thing because it can move us from being "just interested in" to being "committed to" a healthy lifestyle. We all need that wake up call now and again. You have the tools, the friends, and most of all you have the Lord on your side. So don't beat yourself up, just make whatever course adjustments are needed. Besides, I don't think that anyone who is courageous enough to tackle a zip line can call herself a loser.

I agree with Smiles650. Also, maybe treat yourself this weekend. Go out and buy a new shirt and pants that fit you and that you feel amazing in...look for that perfect outfit even if it takes all day. it will make you feel so good about yourself. Are you new to sparkpeople and your 'diet'? If you are you could always get the new outfit and make it you're 'before' picture for your side by sides later down the road! i think you look lovely and happy! we all have our little hang ups...i think i look big in pictures too. But you have to remember...most people arent focusing on all the little things like you are. You can do this! Have a wonderful day!

You've noticed you are where you don't wish to be, so quit beating yourself up now and do something about it with care (you've already taken the first step by coming here and posting this), be nice to yourself and love yourself. I know that the changes will come for you. emoticon
