First day of the rest of my life

Yesterday I stepped on the scale for the first time in years. I couldn't believe my eyes. Apparently my mirror has been lying to me. I knew I was fat but jeez I was tipping the scale of whale. So this morning I set up my sparkle account and set up my first day of food intake. It's going to be hard to eat like a healthy person should. I've never realized how much I really do eat. My portions will be the hardest to change I think, or my night time snacking. I'm off to make my first healthy breakfast. xoxox

  Thanks so much ladies. All the support and kind words are helping. I love walking on my treadmill while my 4 year old daughter cheers me on and tells me I'm doing a great job. It only motivates me to do better for myself.

    The great thing is that you can change and you will change. You've taken that first step - and it's a big one: admitting you need to make a change and then setting up a support system to do it.

    emoticon You've joined a fabulous site with great resources, wonderful people, inspiration and motivation! Take it slow at first. Dont overwhelm yourself. Be aware of what you eat and how much. Get up and move.....any movement is better than on the couch. emoticon

    emoticon We all start from that point. Invest in a good nutrition scale and measuring cups and measure everything you eat. In time you will train yourself into what a proper portion should be. Add some exercise. Walking is a great getting started exercise and with time add some strength training. You are on your way to a wonderful new powerful life. emoticon

    Welcome to Spark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is an awesome site and can help you reach your goals!!!!! Don't think of it as a diet, but a lifestyle change, you can eat what you want in moderation. If you want some cookies, eat the serving size, not the whole pack (like I use to do). Drink LOTS of water, and get up and move. Remember "It doesn't matter how slow you are going, you are still lapping everyone sitting on the couch" and " Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels".
