Learning to READ labels, Remembering not to believe everything you read!

Wednesday, May 02, 2012

Most things have labels - filled with all sorts of helpful information.

To get this info, you must read the label.

Some people are readers. I am a label reader...my husband is not.
Which is why, when he shops, we end up with Lemon Cake mix...when the list asked for yellow cake mix. Have a cupboard full of "close" , but, not exactly what I wanted. He doesn't bother to read the words, when the picture shows what he wanted...it is yellow.

But, I digress..
You can't believe, everything you read on labels either. This morning I showered with a new "Invigorating Shower Gel", and followed up with a matching "Invigorating Body Creme", so, while I smell fresh and citrusy, as promised on the label, I don't feel a bit "Invigorated". Still laying here, playing on the computer, waiting for the "Invigorating" part to kick in...
And the dog, has relocated to the other side of my bed...so, he isn't a fan of the "fresh citrusy scent".

They would sell out of a lot of products if they worked as well as the label and ads have us believing. It must have been so disappointing --just like I wanted Calgon to take me away but it didn't--how disappointed I was. Pyne is like most men I've known like my son who shops most of the time for me I make a detailed list including the ounces but last week he came home with a 10 bag of sugar because it was only $3 more than the 5 lb. bag. Well, I just have to grin to myself and have learned not to say a word as I want him to continue doing grocery shopping for me. I eventually will use the sugar up but it'll be probably take a year until I do. I always enjoy your sense of fun and humor--it's important and a wonderful gift!

Hugs,

Jill

Maybe the invigorating part comes from the energy it takes to rub it in?? Did you check the ingreadients to see if they left the "vigor" out of invigorating?? Personally I never cared for smelling like a lemon or orange or worst of all, a cucumber and melon!!! Hugs, jeannie
