Meh

What's up?

I haven't been around bc I don't really have anything new to report.

No changes, no weight change...nothing.

BBbooorrrriiinnnnnggggggg

I'm still the same weight I was April 1st...beyond frustrating. Still feel slow and meh. I changed my diet....meh. I workout 4-5 days a week with kickboxing...meh. Everything seems meh and boring.

I did kickboxing again on Monday and it's so fun. I love it! I wish I could afford to go more often.

So , back to boredom. I bored with losing weight, bored with running, bored with eating right. I thought kickboxing would change things up, but not what I expected. I thought this massive heat wave would perk me up (I LOVE hot and humid weather), but nope. Same old, same old.

Maybe I'm in a mopey rut, I don't know. I need a good ass kicking that for sure. I gotta make some changes and push thru it all.

Thanks for reading and the support!

*Jen

I completely understand - I feel like I've been going through the same things with it all. I've barely been running, even though I *want to*, when it comes time I'm just all "meh" about it! Anything at all pops up and I skip in a heartbeat. Sounds like we both need to shake things up a bit!!!!!

You can do it - WE can do it!!!

Hey there...sorry you're all "Meh," but I bet the "Meh" will evolve into a "Yeh" and then maybe a "Yeah!" and then maybe a devious "Mu-ahahaha! I showed you, you 'Meh"!"

I think everyone has said it all. I know when I was doing Tae-Bo, I loved going to the classes. It wasn't the same doing the DVD's at home, but, it was better then doing nothing. Everyone gave you great suggestions. Just keep at it and you'll find it!!

I use Gene's Theory of Relativity. When I was stung about 15 times by a swarm of honey bees once someone asks "Didn't that hurt?" My answer: "Not as much as the time I cut my leg with a chain saw."

Before I hurt my knee recently I would always go as fast as I could on the elliptical machine for the first two minutes (about 12 to 14 mph), then when I slowed down to 8 or 9 mph for the rest of the workout it didn't seem as bad.

So try this, start doing everything you absolutely HATE to do. After a while maybe the boring stuff won't seem so bad.

Seriously, if whatever you are doing is not working for you then try something else until you find a good combination.

Wishing you the best.
Gene

ok, so here's the thing...you & I (I think) are alot alike. I go thru phases of "meh", alot. Personally, if I don't actively fight it off, it will turn into a month of "blah", followed by 6 weeks of "I hate everything", followed by a few weeks of "what the heck did I do that for?" You? Maybe you're different...maybe you can stay in "meh" land for awhile and bounce right back? I hope so :)

-Try new recipes. One every night if you have to. Think of your favorite (unhealthy) food, and ask people you know, google, etc to find ways to health-itize it.
-You love kick-boxing. I don't know what the cost is, but maybe you *could* afford to keep going, even once a week? Youtube also has a bunch of different kick box videos, as well as Netflix has a few. I know it's not the same...just a thought.
-You love the heat....are you taking the time to actually ENJOY it? Or hoping it will cheer you up by it's mere presence? Go to the beach? ..crappie, I can't remember where you live...LOL.. Swim? Rollerblading? Biking? Hiking?

Shake it up a little. Push yourself to get outta the "meh". You'll be happy you did :)

I need to get up a post about my new passion, the kettlebell! (If you look at previous post "Taking my Medicine", I have a link to Tracy's website)

Too bad I have started w/what she considers too small - a 10 lb bell when she recommends 18 lbs BEGINNER weight for woman, 26 lb for men! but I am practicing strength & proficiency, almost 2 wks into her program now - then I'll have to back up a few steps when I get that heavier weight...

Of course what everyone else says is true, you gotta find something you enjoy first.

Jen - look for a DVD with kickboxing on it. Although it isn't the same as a class - keep looking around - you might find an site offering a discount.

You can do this, you have to stick to it, find something that makes you happy, you love the heat right, try swimming, walking in parks on beautiful trails! You can't give up, you just need out of your slump. Maybe trying some yoga for mind clearing too might help! You can do it!!! Have faith! emoticon
