Day 3: Still on Track!

I was SO busy at work yesterday, I forgot to make a blog entry!

I'm doing AWESOME today! Yesterday was a good day... First of all, all my produce is 100% organic. It tastes great, and I LOVE cooking with it. Before I had my wake up call, I was eating fast food on a regular basis. Always tired from a long day at work, and very hungry, looking for a convenient way to satisfy my appetite, so I wouldn't have to cook dinner. But now I'm not making any excuses for my eating habits. I've been making my lunch (rather than picking up fast food on my breaks), and cooking dinner for my family. Not that I didn't cook before, I'm just making it a habit to do it every single night. I've completely cut fast food out of my life. And because I cut it out, I have more energy and a better attitude. It's really helping me with my depression.

Yesterday I had oatmeal w/ strawberries & flax seed for breakfast, a salad w/ mushrooms & ham, string cheese & granola for a snack, and stir fry for dinner w/ brown rice, spinach, swiss chard, celery, mushrooms, ham, and garlic (ALL FRESH!).

Today I had a nectarine for breakfast, and then I'll have my usual salad and snacks. Not sure what I'm doing for dinner yet, but by golly it will be a healthy and tasty one!

BTW, You'll notice I've been using ham in everything. It's because I cooked a big ham over the weekend, just so you didn't think ham is a big part of my diet :)

    Thanks friend! I really like swiss chard. The taste is difficult to describe, but I usually saute it with sesame seed oil, sea salt, ground pepper, fresh garlic and onions...Yummy!

    Way to go Janee! I can hear the attitude change through your blogs and your texts. I am so happy for you, and so proud that you're doing it! YAY for no fast food! That is awesome. Cooking for your family is not only healthy, but I believe it will bring you all closer, and Natali can help you cook and learn how to cook instead of eating out all the time. It sounds like you made great choices when you bought groceries this past weekend! How was the swiss chard? I've never had it, but I've seen it in recipes. You'll notice a difference in your body in no time! You're doing great, keep it up sista'!
