I am super excited to have finally started my garden this year. I have been wanting to for years and now I got it going.
Saturday I planted beets, carrots, radish, green onion and snow peas. Yesterday I planted sunflower, pumpkin, cantaloupe and my artichoke plant! I plan to do tomatoes, pole beans, cucumber, bell peppers, potatoes and herbs this weekend if the weather stays warm!
I can't wait to harvest it later this summer and fall. I've already been harvesting the green onion since it was already growing (lucky me) and it just feels so awesome to think I did that and now I get the benefits of eating healthy right from my own backyard.
I ran about 9 miles last week (1 mile short of my goal) so I ran 6.3 on Sunday to help make up for it. I plan to run at least 4 miles tonight and then at least another 4 to 6 on Friday or Saturday. That should get me to my goal for both weeks. Ragnar is so close I can taste it! I think I've got an awesome team this year and I can't wait to run with my bro and sis. This will be their first year running anything and I am so glad they are on my team and in the same van!
I have been struggling still with cravings and overeating on carbs but yesterday I did great. I didn't track till this morning and came in around 1550 cals. I had 25 carbs from veggies and about 100 g fat and 130ish g protein. Shoulda had a bit more fat then protein but it's better then high carbs from grains and sugar. Started this morning off with two soft boiled eggs and a salted and seasoned avocado. YUM! Got my apple and almond butter for a snack and some chicken, cherry tomatoes and lemon chive sauce for lunch.
I've decided even though I have candida and I can't have sugar I will up my fruit intake. I'm not a huge fan of most fruits but I figure if I get a craving for sweets I will grab an apple instead or some berries or something that is lower in fructose.
I weighed in at 115.8 and my waist came in at 28.5!
