Let me first give some background to the situation... a year ago I decided that I couldn't do this weight loss journey on my own and hired a personal trainer to help me. It's actually been a full year since i did this. Well, a year later, and i haven't lost any weight. Actually, I did lose, but i gained it all back. I know, for me, I need motiviation and consistancy and my trainer (if you've read any of my previous rants about her) hasn't been providing that for me. She constantly cancels on appointments - expeically if they are first thing in the morning on Saturday or Friday (my ever other week day off) and when i did train with her, she spent more time on her phone texting other clients than myself. Also, when she asked if i could attend twice a week with one week being a multi-person sesson, the only option she gave me was kickboxing - which i HATE! Now, i realize that she's cutting me a deal on payment, so i'm getting what i pay for, but at this time i haven't seen her in almost a month.
So, she texts me yesterday and says 'when can we get together?' i tell her my hectic schedule (which basically ONLY leaves Friday, Saturday & Sunday for any sessons. i also inform her that my Husband wants me to look for something that will accomodate is more flexable in hours, consistant and dependable. She got a bit offended but then told me that we can work something out that will be beneficial for everyone...
I'm not totally convinced, but my options in this town for places that will accomodate the family, is more flexable in hours, consistant and dependable are very limited. There is the park & rec gym but you have to be 16 to use their fitness equipment - which takes out 3 of the family members. There is another private gym, but their intiation fee is $250 for the family, but other than that it meets all our needs. The monthly dues for each of these places is comparable. The biggest problem i have with both of these places is that i lose the personal trainer - since that is not offered at the Park & Rec Gym and the private gym costs over $300 a month for a trainer.
i just don't know what to do... i like her as a person, but honeslty as a personal trainer she doesn't do a good job. i don't think she will live up to a bargain of working out with the entire family and making it work. i don't want to go to a gym where i'm just another sweety person on a treadmill, etc because honestly those intimidate me. My friend at work says that if any guy is looking at me at the gym it's not because he's thinking i'm gross (etc) but he's admiring what he sees - this from another guy by the way.
i honestly don't know, so i appeal to you - my readers (and anyone else who stumbles on this) to help me with some guidance and advice... go ahead and get on your soap box and go from there...
