May 2012 Goal - Tame the overeating Monster

Wednesday, May 02, 2012

Wow, May 2012. This year is just flying.

For May I have decided I am going to concentrate on tackling my ongoing food issues once and for all!!!

So here is the May Plan:

Create a Hunger Scale and be mindful of how hungry I am during the day. I have a tendency to wait until I am so hungry that I end up over-eating

1. Starving – Have an uncomfortable empty feeling - Never get this hungry
2. Hungry – In less than an hour you will be starving!
3. Moderately hungry – This is the eating zone – food is on your mind
4. Satisfied – Not full, not hungry – Don’t eat here
5. Full – Slightly bloated – habitual eating
6. Stuffed – Uncomfortable – One acceptable on Thanksgiving

Keep my daily intake of calories to under 1,500

Eat smaller, more frequent meals try eating about every 4-hours

1. Breakfast is a must but no more than 250 calories
2. Snack – 100 calories or less
3. Lunch – Eat something with a large water content – 350 calories
4. Snack – 100 calories or less
5. Dinner – Lean meats and pack on the veggies – 600 calories
6. Snack – 100 calories or less

Strive for 25 grams of fiber each day, this will help me feel full

1. Pear – 6 grams
2. Raisin Bran Cereal – 6 grams
3. Broccoli – 5 grams
4. Apple – 4 grams
5. Whole Wheat Bread – 3 grams
6. Carrot – 2 grams

Strive to keep my intake of fat to under 30 grams per day

Strive to keep my intake of Sodium to under 2,000 grams per day

Water – Water - Water

Great plan. Have you thought of adding some Metamucil for extra fiber and it helps with your cholesterol? I have added it and a few more months before more blood work. I call it my afternoon juice. Mind over matter.
