I've received a few compliments along my journey which have been wonderful and motivating, mainly regarding weight loss. But this past weekend I received a very surprising compliment from my sister-in-law, who I haven't seen in a year. She said "You really look healthy". WOW! Me? looking healthy? What a high compliment and a great morale booster. All of this hard work is truly paying off. I know that's why I'm on this journey, and it's my top priority each and every day, for the rest of my life, but I guess I never considered a defining point or actually "looking" healthy. Especially since I'm still technically overweight and have trouble spots to tighten up. I'm not thin or super physically fit, or a runner, nor a weightlifter. But I really am happy where I am. Now I'm really motivated to stay that way! Awesome!
What is the most meaningful compliment you've received?
Hi Keli== I'll bet you DO look healthy! It's nice to have hard work acknowledged....especially by someone you haven't seen in a long while. With your tenacity, you'll reach your goals sooner than later.
Ironically - on days when I feel pretty bad - my face takes on a 'high' color - rosy red cheeks (normally I'm pretty pale). I try to look presentable when I take Lucy for her walks (4x a day) because I'm always running into people I know. It's on those days, when I feel lousy, in pain - that I always seem to get compliments....."Gee, you look great today....you have great color!"..... Ironic isn't it. You gotta' laugh!
Keli, That had to feel good! I, too, had some friends tell me I looked good and healthy and it was a better compliment than the classic, you've lost weight! I try to remember to write them in my journal! They can be easy to forget in times of frustration! Hope you have a wonderful week! Take care, my dear friend! Love & Hugs, Mary
