I had my usual lack of sleep and had just taken my energy drink prior to my workout at 5:20 am when I heard what I thought was a door slam -seeing the time I just thought it was just the paper girl delivering as she likes to use the stairwell and our doors slam really good around here with the air pressure unless you hold them. But then the slamming continued and became quicker and louder -what the heck? I looked out my peephole and saw someone reefing on the superintendent's office door. So I ran and grabbed my portable phone and called 911. I was talking to them about the intruder who was no longer visible -but I saw the office door cracked open. All of a sudden, I saw him ran out. Unfortunately, I only ever saw their back and they were dressed all in black with a hoodie up, so I never even saw their hair :( The police never got here in time, but they did try to track him with a dog. He had stolen the security monitor, ripped out the wires and took a batch of keys. The laugh is on him though, he was caught on the security tape which is automatically sent to a central depot in real time. Trashing the office monitor out did not effect the cameras anyway, they are wired separatley into the cable system. So after being interviewed by the police, I got on with my 60 minutes on the elliptical. Ran late, no time to shower as I headed off to my appointment with the OT to get a new hand splint. I was just about frozen when I got there with my hands being barely able to move. Its cold riding a scooter and not moving although my body was warm enough in my big parka. My hands took a beating from my efforts yesterday two blood blisters in spite of wearing gloves -a sliver or a slice in one of my fingers and a very sore, weak wrist and some bicep soreness.
Went to bridge and came 3rd with my new partner -she wants to play again, but as we are all booked up with regulars we would pretty much have to have both our partners canceling at the same time :P, not what usually happens.
Then it was back home, a quick snack and a read and off to my last Curves Zumba workout. Only one lady I knew was there, I never worked out in the evening so didn't know the evening people or staffers. But the manager was there. The only person to talk to me was the new staffer. Somehow she knew I had joint trouble and asked if the cold and rain bothered me and I said yes, the cold always stiffens me up. So I left Curves wihtout so much as nary a goodbye from anyone, not even the manager who knew my story. Pretty much left as quietly as I joined it.
Went home and tried catching up on my stack of weekly papers, but didn't finish them as I saw there were a lot of blogs to read at Sparks :)
Goodnight
Hugs,
Linda
