Long day Monday, Much Better Day Today

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Yesterday was an eleven hour wait at the hospital for my DH's angiogram and angioplasty. WE were so releaved when they were able to clear the two blockages going to his heart and didn't need by-pass surgery. This past weekend was real trying for him as he was having the episodes just sitting doing nothing. I did manage to get some walking in the corridors of the hospital. He is thrilled that he is allowed to golf this Friday.
Today I went to the Y and did both some strength exercises and water aerobics, so much nicer than sitting at a hospital. We went to a mini family reunion this evening with some of his cousins and his sister and hubby. Yes we both had healthy meals of broiled fish and steamed veggies.
Tomorrow is the first day of line dancing at the Y we go to and I'm planning on going to that, then some water aerobics again, as long as hubby keeps feeling fine.

My husband had a an angioplast and stent for his heart. And 2 years ago I had an angioplasty and 2 stents in my main artery at the top of my right leg/groin.

We have both had no problem with them, your husband is going to be good as new.

I'm so glad that everything went well!! emoticon

Whew! Sounds like you've been busy! Good for you in getting to the Y. I need to get back to mine, but, haven't just yet. Here's hoping Hubby will be much better in the days to come and that his golf game on Friday is great. You be sure to take care of him and YOUr self! Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon

Glad to hear your husband is on the mend and eating well. It is so important for you both to be on board with taking good care of yourselves and your successes will build on themselves and help you encourage each other in the rough spots. It is hard to change but you are on a good path. So excited to hear of your classes at the Y! Keep it up! emoticon

Wonderful news Francine. Praying he continues improving. Our son had stents put in after his heart attack 10 yrs ago and he has done great since. Wish he would eat healthier but can't make him do anything. He was 33 then.

Oh what miracles God can do. I am glad you do not need to set at the hospital today but WooHoo for making good use of the time by walking while you waited for your DH to have the medical procedure. I am glad you made a wise food choice at the mini family reunion. Keep working on staying active and as your DH heals I hope he is able to get more active with you. emoticon
