After being out of town since last Wednesday, this morning I lugged my body out of bed and tackled my hill route. It was a needful run. I had much on my mind beginning on Sunday and through Monday and our trip home. It was one of those times when life just got heavy and the burden got heavier as I got closer to home.
After teaching Thursday through Saturday we began our day off on Saturday evening by having a rather unusual gourmet meal near Two Harbors, Minnesota north of Duluth. We stopped at the New Scenic Café and tasted some wonderful fare. A picture of my entrée' was not on their website (and I forgot to take a pic for the blog) but here is the description: "ratatouille lasagna - courgette aubergine leeks brussels sprouts tomato goat cheese balsamic reduction." Couldn't help but think of Spark Friend THINRONNA and her wonderful chef skills!
Sunday hubby and I conquered his first 5 mile run and enjoyed a nice meal away from the little cabin we were staying in on the North Shore. I did get much needed sleep while away which was nice.
But this morning's run was a centering run. The kind you push through not only because you want to exhaust all the emotion out of yourself, but listening to the kind of things that help remind you of what is important and what is real. It was good. It was needful. It was healing.
I have been thinking a good deal about my goals this month. I have some big ones and here they are:
1. 150 miles of running
2. 40 miles of walking (independent of running time)
3. 175 miles of biking (24 minutes on the bike equals 6 miles in my book when I can't get outside)
4. One SP video a day – 5x a week
5. Daily floor exercises
6. 2200 fitness minutes for the month
7. An apple a day
8. A cup/glass of green tea a day
9. Burn 700 calories a day
10. Eat less than 1300 calories a day
These are indeed aggressive goals. My hope is that by posting them I will remember to write my update each blog post. We will see how this month shapes up.
Hope you are all doing well!
