Food = energy and other conundrums

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Food is fuel, fuel is energy. Energy is something I'm chronically short of. If the car runs out of fuel it stops running, right? I think I have a sense that more food will equal more energy. Doesn't work. I need to rethink that.

Meantime, today I guess I was the Golden Child at work again. First the boss said she wanted to collect a list from us (the schedule of online lessons we were supposed to take for the new system we're getting next month). I gave her mine -- she laughed and said, "Oh, you're exempt. I already KNOW you're done." Then a little later she sent us all an email saying she wanted one of our regular procedures done a certain way. A moment later she sent me an email thanking me because I've done it that way all along. Nice not to have anyone chewing on me for once.

I'm very tired after a long day so I stopped and picked up some Taco Bell for dinner. I always loved their tacos. I don't know if they changed their recipes or what, but it was HORRIBLE. I won't be going back there again. Very disappointing.

Three more days until the weekend...

Finally, that woman is seeing what you are doing and have to offer to the company. Print off that email and make sure you keep it handy to pick up your spirits when she gets on your case again..

I gave up Taco Bell, too, and they used to be my favorite. They don't sell real food. I'm glad work went well for you. It's nice to be appreciated.

I'm glad your day at work went so well. I think the more I cook healthy food, the less I appreciate some of the fast food treats I used to love.

Taco Bell is "hit or miss" for me...guess it depends on who is in the kitchen at the time..but I am glad that you were acknowledged for a job well done...small victories mean a lot!!!

What I found when I was in the depths of my depression that the tiredness wasn't ever alleviated by food... sometimes made it worse. For whatever reasons, drinking water always helps me.
Your boss is a piece of work... you could write a book about Good Boss/Bad Boss and reveal at the end that she is the same person!

Taco Bell might have tasted terrible, because you no longer really want those tacos.
Just a thought.....I used to have go to fast foods that I enjoyed, now (outside of a Philly cheese steak) I can't find anything that tastes good any more. I like this, keeps me away from fast foods. Glad your job is going so well.....not many can say this.
Have a great day and keep working the plan. emoticon

It is so nice to be acknowledged for a job well done, at least you know she values your work!

I've never eaten at Taco Bells, I gave up fast food places altogether, ever since my grand daughter told me about the *pink slime* they add to their beef yucky! Look it up on Google, not nice at all!

See! She really does value you, she just doesn't know how to manage people properly. I'm glad she finally gave you a little recognition. I'm sure she'll do the "nasty boss" act again, but maybe not as much, and at least you know she recognizes your abilities.

  Hi LadyIrish!

To continue on from Blue42Down's comment and to continue the analogy of fueling our cars, we have to add specific fuel to our cars; adding the wrong kind of fuel can really muck-up the car's ability to function properly.

So too, adding the wrong kind of fuel to our bodies can muck up their ability to function propery, as well. I really encourage people to make their calories count and to choose high-quality foods that are going to nourish their body, versus lower-quality foods that really won't do a good job in the nourishment department.

d you had a good day at work!

Be blessed,

I think what we forget about with fuel in cars is that we're prevented from adding more when the tank is full. If we push past that point, it spills all over the ground rather than automatically being stored in containers in the car.

Maybe think about what happens when you add herbs or seasonings to a dish. A little can add a dash of flavor, more can really spice up the flavor, but too much doesn't just keep making it more and more delicious. Too much seasoning can destroy the flavor. Too much food to fuel our bodies can destroy our energy.

emoticon for the praise at work!
