taxing my patience

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Well thank you to all who have been praying for me during this bout with shingles. It has truly proved to be a test for my patience. And I am not sure I am passing the test emoticon The pain from the actual 'rash' is subsiding so sitting is an option again...the only way I could sit for almost two weeks was on ice packs. The nerve and muscle pain is now the challenge. Just when I think I am doing better and try to do any sort of exercise the leg gets very painful. So I am trying little by little to get more active. We started walking again on Sunday..at a snails pace emoticon Could only make it 2 miles and it took me 50 minutes!!!

On the positive side since sitting is doable now I am relieved because Sunday I drive 6 hours and sit for 2 for Karyn's play. I may need some ice when I get home though emoticon

I am looking forward to our trip to Cali the end of May. A celebration month for the Roe family. Karyn graduates college, Kevyn gets home from Afghanistan and turns 21, and Kalyn turns 19!!! Some serious beach time is in order emoticon

So with the trip in mind I am TRYING to be patient and let my body heal. This is not my strong suit...I am a get it done yesterday type of person. I appreciate more than you know the encouragement and prayers from my spark friends. emoticon emoticon

You deserve to heal and be good to yourself while you do. i had a very stoic friend who had shingles and watched her suffer lots. So sorry you are dealing with this.

Just hope you are going to stay the night after seeing the play. Your muscles will suffer from so much time stuck in car and theater seats. Having a bed to lay down/straight on would make sense.

Take care,
dDawn

Patience is a virtue. But seriously who cares? Lose the patience! You deserve it your in real agony! You have plenty of family, friends, and spark buddies to help support you. No need to be brave...lose it!!!!

Let go & Let GOD!

hugs, Anne

I agree that the "healing time" is a huge waste of time but you'll be well soon. Still praying for patience as well as health. emoticon
