Lack of Sleep = Still Not Much Energy For Me

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

I haven't been sleeping well for the last week or so. I'm not sure what is going on, but I'm guessing most probably it is me worrying about my father's health. I didn't get to sleep until late and then woke up at after 4:00 and have been up since.

My daughter had piano practice yesterday and afterwards we decided to stop by two thrift stores near our home since we pass right by them. She was happy to find another Harry Potter book (hardback form) for $1.39. I'm so thankful that she loves to read and she even won the prize in her book club for having read the most. My son, is another story, LOL.

I cleaned out all my expired coupons and cut and filed all the new ones yesterday, and it took me a few hours to do so. I'm all set now for any of the new sales that start in the grocery stores tomorrow so I don't have to feel unorganized or unready. My daughter and I also went by Dollar Tree and I noticed that they still had the local Sunday paper on their stands. I asked how much they were and was told $1 each (vs. $2 that my husband spent) so I got two of them and therefore had more coupons that made it more than worth the $2 I spent on them.

I'll look at the new sales flyers tomorrow online (Wednesday is when the new sales start in my area), make a list, and if there are enough sales to make it worth the gas money spent, I will do another whirlwind tour of the various grocery stores that are near each other (Bi-Lo, Lowe's Foods, Harris Teeter, and Mighty Dollar).

I really would like to work more on organizing my home and selling some more items that are driving me nuts to see them sit around and gather dust, but I really don't have the strength or energy right now. I'll get to it at a later date I know, but I'm the type of person who when I make up my mind about something (such as losing weight or getting rid of things), I want it done NOW, LOL.

One thing that I know I can accomplish is setting up my file folder that I mentioned I bought at Mighty Dollar (for $1). I will be able to take all my sales flyers, electronic coupon lists, coupons, etc. in each and every store without forgetting it and it will be organized, which means I can be in and out of a store faster.

I use a super older than the hills Rubbermaid coupon box that I bought a million years ago. I picked up a 7-window file at MIghty Dollar that I put all my sales flyers, printed electronic coupon lists and my shopping list in for each store that I take inside with me too.

My coupon box is made of plastic and has a latch on the front of it to keep everything safely inside. I haven't seen them in the store for sale since I bought it maybe (dare I say it?) 20 or so years ago.

I will probably have to go with the album/photo sleeves method if this coupon box ever breaks in the future.

I do the 2' binder with the trading card pages in them. My binder also has file folders in it for the sales flyer, electronic lists, restaurants, ect. I like the trading card part because I put post it notes on the side for the categories. I can change things up as needed.

I also am not sleeping well. Not sure why.

Trying to figure out the best way to organize my coupons has been a struggle for me. I'm still not totally satisfied with my current system but it's the best one yet. I have a 2' binder and have trading card pages with my coupons in those. I still find it a bit unweildy while I'm shopping.
