What do I hope to accomplish in May? I've been pondering this question for a little while, trying to decide what kind of goals to set for myself as my waistline expands and expands and my energy levels drop and drop.
I tell ya, this is by far my most difficult pregnancy. Being this BIG and trying to keep up with an almost 5 year old and an 18 month old is quite tiring. The thought of setting fitness goals alone is tiring, lol. I had signed up for the SP 'Spring into Shape' challenge, but decided against it figuring that some of the required videos are probably core based. Sorry, but there aren't any crunches happening in this house for a while...
Anyway, here goes with some (hopefully) attainable goals for the month of May:
1. Track my food and stay within my recommended calorie range at least 4 days a week. I know I should aim higher, but I work so hard at this when I'm not pregnant, I feel like I deserve at least a bit of a break. But, on the other hand, if I did better at this while pregnant, I wouldn't have to work so hard after pregnancy... Kind of a catch 22 I guess.
2. Walk 12-15 miles per week.
3. Limit my meat-containing meals. I had been following a vegetarian diet (pescatarian actually, but my hubby doesn't eat seafood, so it was a rare treat if I had any) for about 2 months prior to getting pregnant, dropped the remainder of my baby weight form my last pregnancy, and felt amazing. Then, the baby started craving meat. I've gotten to the point where I don't really trust commercially produced/prepared meat, but do enjoy purchasing fresh and local meats at the farmer's market here in town.
4. Strength training, 4x a week, simple as that.
Wish me luck!
