Sigh, a wonderful weekend is over

Monday, April 30, 2012

Our team won!!!! The wonderful young men of the Drake University Tennis team won the Missouri Valley Conference title this afternoon when the last point needed was scored by Jonathan in a tie break. Very exciting and pretty soon the entire team.... 10 young men are acting like 15 year olds. They were so excited about the win against a very tough team. Jonathan's opponent had beat him in a dual match just a week ago, so the victory was very sweet for him. We were then invited to join the team for their victory dinner and had a great time. These young men represent the following countries: Bosnia, Bolivia, England (2), Scotland, Namibia in South Africa and Jonathan is from Israel. He also received an award for having the highest GPA among all the players of the top two teams.
Needless to say we are so happy for these fine young men and so happy to be included in their celebrations. They gave us wonderful hugs goodbye as we left. I am already looking forward to next season!
We had a great weekend not just as far as tennis, but we have a lovely place to stay with a buffet breakfast that included loads of lovely fresh fruit, freshly made omelets... even an egg white omelet if you wanted. We had dinner Sat. evening at an Italian place and I had a "small plate" for my meal that was just perfect and left room to share a creme brulee with DH!
