Well, I've completed my first week of our office's Walk Across America challenge, and did better than I expected. Between the treadmill, elliptical, and other steps (calculated by pedometer), I totaled 39.9 miles this week:
I only achieved my 15/15 minute split between the elliptical and treadmill on Friday, so that will help me to rack up more mileage this week. I'm tempted to keep increasing my the elliptical to treadmill ratio, but know that it wouldn't be good for my back - I've got to settle into this level before shifting any more time to the elliptical.
On the weight side, the scale said that I gained .8 this week (averaging 1492 calories/day). The calories could be a little bit low, due to some difficult-to-etimate foods eaten over the weekend. On the other hand, this could just have been morning fluctuation due to intestinal contents. I'll aim again for 1450/day this week, and see how it goes. However, my narrowest dress pants still fit properly this morning. I can really feel my muscles from the elliptical work, so hopefully I'm becoming more compact, even if I weigh a little more:).
