Still Here, Still Sparking and Desperately Need a Good Challenge Group

Monday, April 30, 2012

As some have noticed I have been "away" from the spark site for a while taking a much needed break from checking in and diverting most of my attention to getting myself back on track after on the move...I was simply on stress overload and something had to give so time here was what I chose.

Anyway, thought I would stop in mid packing for a business trip that begins later this am and runs through Friday...

I do miss the challenge group aspect and maintenance is a bear!!!!!!!!!!!

On the upside, I've kept up with my tracking in my trusty notebook, and I guess is was in late Feb I started using that same notebook to write anecdotes about living with the after effects of stroke...sometimes serious issues need a bit of humor and realistic talk...it's funny and has a ton of stuff about how my personal program and the maintenance of it has had issues..ups and downs.

If you are reading this I live with a stroke survivor/diabetic who continues to maintain his weight for 18 months as of Friday, his latest appt wih the dr...

Anyway, back to packing, hope to get back here very regularly since I do my best when I am accountable to a website of all things lol!

Take care especially to my "old friends" and know I think of u often!

It's great to know that you are okay! I had been checking your page, but noticed that you had been AWOL for a LONG TME!!! I missed you!

Humor is necessary when you're dealing with stress. People often wondered that my family would laugh about things that my mother did during her struggle with Altheimers, but we realized that it was much easier to relieve the stress by laughing than it was by crying. Enjoy looking back over those anecdotes and smile!

Hey, I'm looking for a good challenge, too! I haven't lost as much as you have, but in my third year of maintenance I find keeping off my 80+ pounds takes constant work and attention. I'm going to start training for a half marathon starting June 9th, so I've got that coming up. I'm trying to improve my consistency with strength training this month, track more completely, and reduce my use of artificial sweeteners. I'll keep watching your blogs to see what challenge you select. Perhaps I'll join you!! Best wishes with your long term victory!!! -Marsha
