I think I pulled something.

For the last few weeks I've been having problems with my lower back. I have been stretching before and after each workout. Good support for my chair at work. Using ice and heating pad to help with the pain. This afternoon after I got done with my workout I noticed the front part of my upper thigh going around to my hip gave me a large amount of pain. Each time I took a step the pain increased and I was reduced to a shuffle.

This seemed to be a gradual increase of pain but it would stop for a day or two but came back. After today's work out, I noticed increased pain as I got off the bike. I had a lot of pain getting up off the coach and had to shuffle along in the house. I tried a warm bath with Epsom salts. Then I used ice packs, it doesn't feel any better.

Most of my past injuries were obvious and I knew I had an injury. This is the first time something felt like a mild problem and now turns out to be a really painful injury.
It deals with the muscles : Sartorium and the rectus femoris.

I'll take it easy for a few days and apply ice and heat. Then see what happens. Still trying to figure out how it happened.

I do literally feel your pain. Like you, I've been getting some strange pains - not twinges, but stab 'em, jab 'em real pains. Mine are in my right hip and last two fingers of the right hand. I have no idea where they came from (shingles is on my left side and I've found you only get it on one side at a time), but like you have been alternating ice and heat, and elevating hip and leg when possible. Does amount/intensity of exercise affect your pain? Mine eases directly following regular exercise, but then comes back with a vengeance a few hours later. I wish you more success than I've managed in alleviating it.
