Another Marathon Training Update

Time keeps marching on! I can't believe it's less than two months before Grandma's!
Today was my longest run to date--16 miles. I OWNED IT. I still can't believe that I ran that far! I only stopped to walk when I drank my water, otherwise I kept right on moving. According to my Garmin watch I managed to keep a 10:35-10:45 pace the entire time. I feel really good about that. It is so true that your mind will break before your body does. After I hit 14 miles my brain kept trying to make my legs stop. I had to keep myself distracted from looking at my Garmin watch and just KEEP GOING!
Knock-on-wood I'm injury free and feeling pretty good. I'm cross training with a spinning/ circuit training class and a weights class. It's really improving my core strength and I'm surprised at how strong I am able to finish my runs.
Last weekend was the Earth Day Half marathon in St. Cloud. Other than the rain from mile 3-the end, I had an awesome race. 2:07 knocking 10 minutes off my "Get Lucky" Half Marathon time. Get Lucky really rattled my confidence, so I was thrilled to have such a great race in St. Cloud. Today did wonders for my confidence, too! 16 MILES!
